1. "The debate over God’s sovereignty in salvation has reached a new low with the publication of this book. Having heard rumblings about it, I purchased a copy in order to read Hunt’s arguments for myself. Honestly, having read little more than the introduction and first chapter, I set it aside, believing that my time could be much better spent—I was only nineteen pages into the book before it was clear to me that this was not a serious book. Yet to my great surprise, over the next few months I kept hearing reports that it was being recommended as a profitable book." David M. Doran's full review of Dave Hunt's book What Love Is This? Calvinism’s Misrepresentation of God can be viewed here.

1Notice I did not ask if Christians should use evidences in their defense of Christianity. Such a question obviously has "yes" as its answer, since Jesus and the apostles marshaled evidence to substantiate their claims. A great difference exists between an evidentialist and one who simply uses evidences in his apologetic approach. Christians who wonder why presuppositionalists use evidences (e.g.., historical, archaeological, textual) simply do not understand presuppositionalism. I've actually had seminary graduates ask me how presuppositionalists can use evidences! They obviously believe theologians like Van Til are allergic to any reasons for the veracity of the Christian worldview except the transcendental argument. Sad.
