All of the Bible Conference attendees from Prak Ambel and Sre Treng. This photo was taken after Don and I preached our last sermon on Wednesday morning. About half of those pictured slept on the church floor during the previous two nights of the conference. |

The younger is helping the older sing hymns to God. The older man followed the boy’s finger as he traced the words of the song. I later learned that Horng-ouch, the older man, was led to the Lord by Nhean, president of Roka Krom school. |

A Buddha shrine in a temple near Chheng’s
house. Following Moses lead (Deut 9), Kosal and I snuck into the
temple later this night and smashed the idol. J/K. |

First morning of the Bible Conference in Prak Ambel. Many
members of the Sre Treng church are present on the right side of
the photo. (7/1/03) |

Sopheary Hem (now Meas), Mades Meas, & Don Eppler (my partner on the trip) inside the Prak Ambel church |

Me with Don Eppler, former long-term missionary to Uruguay. Evangelist Eppler is an amazing saint. I cherish his friendship. |
|
I am here delivering my second sermon of the
Bible conference. It was titled The Results of the Gospel. Mades,
my translator, did an excellent job. The pulpit was so dark this
evening that I could barely read! The fan above me helped
circulate the 85°F
air. |
|
Some of the young men from the Sre Treng church. A few spoke broken English. |
|
On separate occasions Don and I spoke with this
Buddhist Monk named Sivultha Roath who lives in Phnom Penh. He
had just completed eight years of studying to become a “full-fledged”
monk. We gave a gospel tract to him and he gave his phone number
to me in case I ever visit Cambodia again. |

Sarat and his son at the Wednesday lunch. In
Chheng's absence, Sarat served as one of the church leaders. The
hospitality of the church this day was second-to-none. God is
good...all the time. |

In preaching for the first time ever, I had to
learn to deal with extreme heat (+110°F), high humidity,
bugs, a translator, low lighting, and a STREAKER! I doubt any
seminary preaching course teaches you how to handle streakers. |
